What’s the difference between Sekai Guild and Sekaicon? Why are they two different things?

Sekai Guild is a non-profit entity formed with the intention of creating multiple cultural events and experiences. Sekaicon will be the flagship cultural event for Sekai Guild and will be focused on East Asian popular culture.

Sekai Guild

All of our directors are required to volunteer their time in their role and may not receive monetary compensation for their role as directors within Sekai Guild.

The main benefit of purchasing a membership each year is being able to attend Sekaicon! Think of it as your magic ticket to the action!

Thank you for your interest! Running events like anime conventions is hard work and takes a lot of time and money; donations to support our upcoming slate of programming and events are always welcome. We understand that not everyone has room in their budget to contribute financially. We truly appreciate those who support us by telling their friends about us, attending events and sharing about us on social media.

Thank you for your interest! Please keep an eye on our website and social media, as we’ll be sure to announce this information as soon as applications open. Or, join our interest list to get an email notification!

We will defer to the existing policies in place at our various event venues regarding the admittance of animals.

We strive for our website to be the most up-to-date source for all information regarding Sekai Guild projects and events. If something isn’t updated on the website, it’s very likely because we don’t have any newer information that we can publicize!

Sekaicon

Yes! The first ever Sekaicon will take place in April 2025! Check out sekaiconnection.com for more information.

Sekaicon will take place at Cherry Valley Hotel & Ohio Event Center in Newark, OH.

Sekaicon will take place April 11 - 13, 2025!

For the first year of Sekaicon we have decided as an organization to make the theme…Sekaicon! Year one will be all about introducing Sekaicon to the world! Moving forward, themes will be decided and released prior to pre-registration opening.

When you attend Sekaicon, you’re actually purchasing a single-year membership in Sekai Guild! This concept of purchasing a membership rather than an admission is not a new one, and has been particularly prevalent amongst fan-run anime conventions. Don't worry—typical Sekai Guild members have no year-round responsibilities, so sit back and enjoy the programming!

COVID-19 Related Refunds:

Attendees who test positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of the event may request a refund by providing proof of a positive test result. Refund requests must be submitted before the event start date to registration@sekaicon.org.

In the event of a government-mandated shutdown or restrictions that lead to the cancellation of the event, full refunds will be provided to all registered attendees.

Sekai Guild is unaffiliated with any other organizations, non-profit or otherwise. Sekaicon is a brand-new convention! We have no ties to other groups or events, past or present.

Please be patient with us—we will have this information available as soon as possible! Please keep an eye on our website and social media for more details. To be notified when applications open, please join our notification email list here!
